Till date, Bokil has organised 42 exhibitions which celebrate the works of Atre, a renowned Marathi poet, writer, educationist, politician, filmmaker and noted orator.
“My father was a big fan of Atre and it was he who introduced me to his works.
We have been running trips for more than a decade into a stretch of drifting Dunes south of Sam where we are the only operator allowed to go.
On all our safaris we offer fresh mineral drinking water, fresh food cooked in mineral water, mattresses & blankets, English speaking friendly guides, your own camel and transport by jeep to and from your Safari.
For city-based Suhas D Bokil, it’s a fascination that began more than 55 years ago.
They also arranged a camel safari for us which was very memorable--definitely consider going on an overnight camel safari--the guides will take good care of you and your group, and I would go back to Renuka hotel again if I had the opportunity. We also arrange Plane, Train and Bus tickets for your onward journey as well as maps and all tourist information. We are always happy to answer any questions any time. When I was nine years old, I acted in a Marathi play penned by him – Ghara Baher.I first saw him in April 1960, when he was giving a lecture. After reading his autobiography – Mee Kasa Jhalo – I started collecting his works – articles, dramas, poems, audio clippings and films,” says 70-year-old Bokil, adding that while he held his first exhibition in 1960 at his home in Kolhapur, it was in 1989 that he organised his first public exhibition on Atre’s works.
